The aim of the Barwell Community House is to work with local residents and young people, encouraging them to become involved in community projects and activities, helping to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and working together to encourage a sense of pride back into the area.
The community house provides local residents, tenants and young people with direct access to public services including Police, housing officers, adult education, Youth Offending Team, Connexions, Age Concern and Voluntary Action.
This spring, after meeting with Master Gardener Judith and Master Gardeners’ Coordinator Alison, the staff and local residents have begun developing the back garden of this council house to add food growing to the facilities available.
If you’d be interested in getting involved, contact Alison or Barwell House Community Manager, Melitza Kirkham on 01455 844884
